Lawmakers of the main liberal Democratic Party of Korea hold signs saying “Stop the election interference!” and "The people are outraged!” in front of the Supreme Court in southern Seoul on Friday, a day after the top court overturned a lower court’s acquittal of the party’s presidential candidate, Rep. Lee Jae-myung, in an election law violation case.

The lawmakers condemned the court’s unprecedentedly rushed ruling as politically motivated, saying it was clearly intended to target Lee's campaign for the June 3 early election. Lee leads the entire field of candidates by a wide margin.
