Braving rain, thousands of children and their parents took part in a mini marathon hosted by the Seoul Metropolitan Government on Saturday.
The event, which involved parents running or walking a 5-kilometer course in central Seoul with their children in strollers, was aimed to promote happier relationships in families.
The majority of them were wearing raincoats due to the rain that started early morning.
Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon, who participated in the marathon, expressed hope that the event will be remembered as “special” for the participants. "I hope this will be a special day that you can cherish for a lifetime -- walking, running, and laughing with your children and family,” he said
